№ 02/10

Fillers, with restraint.

Volume returned to where time withdrew it — measured in fractions of a milliliter, never in trends.

Still-life study in morning daylight representing Fillers, plate 02 of the Anastology collection
Amber glass on a warm sill. Pl. 02.

What It Is

Dermal fillers are soft gels — most commonly hyaluronic acid, a substance your skin already makes — placed beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines, or support facial contours. The change is visible immediately, and depending on the product and the area, it lasts anywhere from six months to two years. Placed with restraint, filler does not change your face; it returns what time removed from it.

What It Addresses

  • Thinning or asymmetric lips
  • Under-eye hollows and tear troughs
  • Flattened or descending cheeks
  • A softening jawline
  • A recessed chin
  • Temple hollowing
  • Smile lines and nasolabial folds
  • Nose bumps and irregularities, without surgery
  • Early lines along the neck

How Anastasia Approaches It

My rule with filler is that the syringe is not the plan — your face is. I work in fractions of a milliliter, I favor hyaluronic acid because it can be dissolved, and I would always rather you return in a month for a little more than leave today with too much.

I also decline work. If your cheeks do not need volume, I will not sell you cheek filler on the way to your lip appointment. And if previous filler has migrated or been overdone elsewhere, we dissolve before we add — I will not stack product on a problem.

The Appointment

  1. I

    Consultation

You explain what bothers you; Anastasia assesses the whole face, not the single feature. Sometimes the honest plan is less than you came in asking for.

  2. II

    Mapping

Structure and proportion are assessed and marked, and the plan is measured in fractions of a syringe — discussed candidly before anything is opened.

  3. III

    Treatment

Topical numbing first, then careful, unhurried placement. The result is visible immediately, with mild swelling that settles over the following days.

  4. IV

    Aftercare

You leave with written instructions and a review at two weeks, once swelling has fully resolved. The result is judged then — not in the chair.

HONEST LIMITS

Honest Limits

What this will not do

  • Lift genuinely lax skin — filler adds volume; it does not re-drape tissue.
  • Substitute for a rhinoplasty or a facelift. It refines; it does not restructure.
  • Fix an overfilled face by adding more. That problem is solved by dissolving, and I will say so.
  • Stop time. Filler is metabolized; maintenance is part of the honest picture.

When Anastasia will decline

  • If the request is more product on top of migrated or overfilled filler — dissolving comes first.
  • If you bring someone else’s face as the goal. I work with your anatomy or not at all.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have an active skin infection near the treatment area.

Aftercare

Do

  • Ice gently to manage swelling on the first day
  • Sleep slightly elevated the first night
  • Keep the area clean while the injection points close
  • Return at two weeks so the settled result can be reviewed

Avoid

  • Press, massage, or sleep on the treated area for 48 hours
  • Do strenuous exercise for 24 hours
  • Drink alcohol on the first day — it worsens bruising
  • Apply makeup directly over injection points for 24 hours
